The novel by Philip Rot "American Pastoral" is a novel of farewell with promises of the twentieth century - prosperity, public order and family well -being. The main character of the novel by Swede Leivou, in his school years, a wonderful athlete, grew up during post-war well-being, married the former Miss New Jersey, inherited his father’s factory and became the owner of the mansion in an idyllic village. But in 1968, his beautiful American luck unexpectedly cheating on him.
