The monograph by Oksana Medvedeva is devoted to the analysis of American multiculturalism as historical, cultural, social and political phenomena. The formation of multiculturalism is considered through the prism of the social evolution of American society, the transformation of its intellectual and ideological space, the party-political system, as well as within the framework of the problem of finding models of national consolidation in the conditions of the crisis of identity. The broad historical material proves that the insufficient effectiveness of the multiculturalism policy in the United States is associated with its methodological eclecticism, a combination within the framework of the general social strategy of fundamentally different worldviews
