The new guidebook from the series 'Encyclopedia of Mysterious Places' leads its readers to the not so distant, but little explored in terms of tourism, cities of Central Russia, which for many years have modestly but responsibly performed their important role in protecting the Russian state from external enemies. They are located in a chain from the southeast to the southwest of Moscow within a radius of 200-300 km from the capital and are therefore accessible for visits even on weekends, not to mention holidays and vacations. Along the giant defensive line called the Zasechnaya Cherta, there are roads accessible for passenger vehicles. There is a network of local intercity communications here, which leisurely travelers can use to their advantage, and we will try to help them. But the main goal of the book is to interest curious readers in little-known pages.
