Surface is a planet that has been colonized by humanity relatively recently. Here, everything necessary for a happy and carefree life is present: clean air, opportunities for self-realization, and a formula that allows any schoolchild to effortlessly absorb vast amounts of information. Maxim was born here and cannot imagine another life. On the old planet, there are ecological catastrophes, devastation, and a dying civilization. This was Anna's former world. Fortunately, her family moved.
In the history of relations between the old and new planets, there are no fewer difficulties than in the relationship between a girl from Earth and a boy from the Surface. Maxim and Anna will have to learn the truth about the past world they live in and change it for the better.
Any futuristic story about the world of the future depicts realities that seem very distant. But Irina Gabbasova's "Almost Almighty" poses entirely different questions to the reader. Is it really a chasm to the imagined world? Or is it just one step away?
