Alice Seleznyova, a girl of the 21st century created by the famous science fiction writer Kir Bulychov, after finishing the second grade, goes on a space ship called 'Pegasus' with her father, a biology professor, on an interstellar scientific expedition to collect rare alien animals for the Moscow Zoo. Accidentally learning about the disappearance of three legendary captains who had traveled the entire Galaxy in their starships, the crew of the 'Pegasus', largely thanks to the fearless Alice, managed to uncover the mystery of their disappearance and save their lives by defeating cunning space pirates.
This fantastic story, first published in 1974, is still very popular among young adventure lovers not only in our country. It has been translated into almost all European languages, as well as Chinese and Japanese. An animated film 'The Mystery of the Third Planet' and a computer game have been created based on the story.
Recommended for middle school age.
