The algebra textbook written by the outstanding educator A.P. Kiselev in the distant year of 1888 has since undergone numerous reprints and has long been considered a classic for teaching algebra in Russian and Soviet schools. According to many teachers, abandoning "Kiselev's method" has led to a significant decline in students' knowledge quality in this area. The "high theoretical level" and excessive scientific nature of modern textbooks hinder students from mastering the material, so now only 20% of them acquire comprehensive mathematical knowledge (while Kiselev's textbooks were absorbed by approximately 80% of students).
The main goal of the author is to ensure that students understand the subject. This includes the ability to empathize with the student, correctly understand the course of their thoughts and the reasons for possible difficulties, as well as precision in establishing concepts, simplicity in reasoning, and conciseness in presentation.
All of this allows us to assert that learning from Kiselev's book is easy and yields undeniable positive results.
The book consists of two parts. The current first part contains preliminary algebraic concepts, material on relative numbers and operations on them, whole monomial and polynomial expressions, algebraic fractions, first-degree equations, and quadratic equations. The second part, which deals with identical transformations with powers and roots, functions, inequalities, progressions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, equations, combinations, and the binomial theorem, is being released simultaneously with the first part by our publishing house.
This edition is intended for high school students looking to improve their knowledge in algebra, practicing educators, and all those interested in mathematics.
