The workbook is a supplement to the textbook "Algebra. 7th grade" by Yu. N. Makarychev et al., edited by S. A. Telyakovskiy (2023 and subsequent editions). It consists of 40 topics corresponding to all sections of the textbook, except for additional sections under the heading "For those who want to know more".
The workbook is presented in two parts. The first part includes exercises related to the first three chapters of the textbook: "Expressions, Identities, Equations", "Functions", "Exponents with Natural Exponents". The second part includes exercises related to the next three chapters: "Polynomials", "Formulas of Shortened Multiplication", "Systems of Linear Equations".
Each exercise consists of two sections. Section I contains simple tasks aimed at mastering the introduced concepts and algorithms, forming fundamental skills, establishing connections between new material and previously studied material. Section II includes more complex tasks that require a good command of the acquired knowledge and skills, as well as intellectual flexibility.
The exercises presented in the workbook vary in presentation format. Students are asked to complete partially solved problems, establish correspondences, illustrate them using arrows, choose the correct answer by circling the appropriate number, and so on. The presence of prepared tables, drawn coordinate systems, some explanations for equation or system of equations composition, etc., creates conditions for intensifying the learning process.
The workbook provides ample opportunities for organizing classroom and homework for students.
