The book is a scientific biography of an outstanding Russian organic chemist, rector of St. Petersburg University, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences Alexander Abramovich Voskresensky, whom D.I. Mendeleev - one of his many students, called the "grandfather of Russian chemistry". His works, dedicated to Hynic acid, chinon and the alkaloid discovered by him, were included in monographs and textbooks on organic chemistry. In addition to teaching at universities in St. Petersburg - at the University, the Institute of Traffic Engineers, the Pedagogical Institute, the Engineering Academy, the Page Corps, A.A. Voskresensky did a lot in the field of public education - he was 8 years old as a trustee of the Kharkov educational district, in his estate he organized a school for peasant children, which work now, keeping the memory of its founder. In the preparation of the book, the author used numerous archival documents, most of which are published for the first time, and memoirs.
