The Akathist to the venerable elders of Optina has been published by the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate. Optina Monastery is one of those sacred places where the Russian soul seeks healing. For a whole century, Optina Monastery has been a source of spiritual enlightenment for all of Russian society: from illiterate peasants to philosophers and writers, from peasants to members of the royal family, from monks to church hierarchs. The glorified God-loving elders of Optina, spiritually nurturing thousands of people, have become its main treasure.
