William Morris (1834-1896) - English poet, writer, translator, artist, designer, publisher, inventor and public figure, truly outstanding mind and cult personality of the Victorian era. Morris was one of the first to work in the fantasy genre - at the junction of a knightly novel and a fairy tale, and the writer’s banner was later picked up by J.R.R. Tolkien, K.S. Lewis and many other authors. In the final volume of the collected works of Morris, two late novels were included, which embodied all the artistic achievements of the writer, as well as a collection of stories "Golden Wings" (1856)
