The textbook examines in detail all the main sections of the course “Woods and Forestry Management” and the course “Forest Goods and Woods”. The structure of wood is considered at various levels of the organization: the elemental and chemical composition of wood, the submolecular and submicroscopic structure, cellular structure, macroscopic structure, structure at the level of the tree. The main physical and mechanical properties of wood, their dependence on various factors, variability both in general for wood and within the same breed are considered in detail.
The features of the structure and properties of wood of the main wood, the main vices of wood are briefly considered. The section “Forest Goods” considers the concept of forest goods and a brief characteristic of the main types of products based on modern regulatory documents is given.
The textbook is intended for students, bachelors, masters and graduate students of higher educational institutions of the forest profile studying in the courses Woods and Forestry Management and Forest Goods and Woods. The textbook contains a large number of illustrative materials
