Karl May is the author of numerous books about the adventures in the Wild West of the fearless Westman Old Schetterhend (lingering hand) and his faithful friend, the young leader of the Apachi Indians Winnet. Numerous film adaptations and reprints of these works in the twentieth century confirmed the unfading interest of readers and spectators in these brilliant examples of adventure literature. The first novel about the Winnett was in the real edition, which tells about the acquaintance of Old Shetterhend and the young Indian from the Apachi tribe.
