Gustav Mayrink is an Austrian writer, author of novels and stories in the genre of “magical realism”. The novel “Golem” brought him wide fame. Gradually, Micherink switched from fantastic to mystical, he began to build his artistic world exclusively in the internal reality of consciousness. Such is his novel “White Dominican”, dedicated to the journal of the human “I”. Many critics and literary scholars believe that the White Dominican is the best novel by Mayric, in which he managed to transfer the action to the inner world of a person and at the same time telling an exciting story.
