One September in the evening of 1881, writer Robert Lewis Stevenson drew a map of the uninhabited island for his stepson, which he called the Treasure Island. "The images of my future characters in the adventure novel began to manifest through an imaginary forest when I peered into my map of the island of treasures, ”the author recalled.
