Theophilia Gauthier (1811-1872) is a French writer who created many magnificent and diverse works during his life: poems included in the world classic of poetry, love novels and novels, entertaining travel essays, dramas, critical articles and even a libretto.
The first volume of the works included the lyrical collection of the miniatures "enamel and cameras", which became the top of the poetic skill of Gauthier, as well as the novels "Roman Mumiya" and "Fortunio".
In the second volume of the collected works, the novel “Captain Frakas", telling about the adventures of the troupe of stray comedians, to whom the impoverished Baron de Sigonyak joined, and his love for the lovely actress Isabella.
