This collection is composed of two not the most popular works of Gilbert Kight Chesterton (1874-1936), whose glory brought, of course, his stories about Brown"s father. But not the most famous - does not mean the most uninteresting. The modern reader will appreciate the plot of the novel “Napoleon Nottinghill”, written in 1904 - but with a reference in 2014. This is acute fiction. Plot: An ordinary chushnik official suddenly becomes the king of Great Britain. One of his jokes is the proclamation of the "Charter of the Podomia", which no one at first takes seriously. But quite a bit of time passes, the ambitions are overwhelmed by small politicians - and now a bloody war between the "unexplored" London areas ... the plot of the novel, the man who was Thursday, is no less modern. The Anaarchist poet Lucian Gregory claims that poetry is an instrument of revolution. To convince the secret police of Gabriel Saima of this, he introduces him into the secret society of terrorists, whose names are assigned according to the names of the days of the week. The agent becomes Thursday, and his task is to get to Sunday, the leader of the organization. The rest would be a spoiler. Read.
