Antoine de Saint-Exupery was the same age as the 20th century. The son of the count, he could become an architect. However, dreaming of heaven, he entered the Aviation Forces as an ordinary. Exupery became a pilot of twenty -three years. The first story - "pilot" - was published in 1926.
In the "Little Prince" written later, there were a lot of autobiographical. Exupery loved to wear a long scarf. During the service in Morocco, he once tamed the Feneca - a long -honeyed desert fox. The image of a capricious and feminine flower was inspired by the wife of the writer. Her name was Consuelo. She was a sculptor and artist. Consuelo later described her life with Exupery in the book "Memories of Rose".
After the occupation of France by the Nazi troops, Exupery will leave for the United States. In 1943, Exupery will return to his air group, which at that time was based in Morocco. Exupery achieves permission to carry out aerial photography of German troops on the southern coast of France. The flight, which began on the morning of July 31, 1944 on Corsica, was the last for him. The light exploration plane of Exupery did not return to the base. His car was discovered at a 70-meter depth only at the very end of the 20th century. It was raised from the bottom of the sea at the beginning of 2004, but the remains of the pilot himself were not able to find. Exupery seemed to leave his planet, disappearing into the star Dali, as if a fairy -tale little prince invented by him.
"Little Prince" is the most famous composition of the French pilot, writer and sage Antoine de Saint -Exupery. By the number of translations into various languages of the world, this small work is second only to the Bible. Children read it as a sad beautiful fairy tale, adults - as a wise parable that touches the soul, saying in simple words about the most important things in life. For the first time, the text of the story was published in English and a little later in French in 1943 in New York, where Exupery left from France occupied by the Nazis
