Tales about Cinderella, a cat in boots and a sleeping beauty are known to everyone and everyone. Having overcome political and language barriers, they entered European culture in the same way as Homer"s poems, "Divine Comedy" Dante and Shakespeare"s drama. Tales, firmly connected with the names of Charles Perrault, Carlo Gozzi and the Grimm brothers, originate in five volumes of "fairy tales" - a book published in 1636 in Naples. The works of the poet and writer Jambattist Bazile (1566-1632) influenced all the major tester writers of our continent, their traces are found in the fairy tales of Pushkin, in the "skate of the Gorbunka" and in the "Ural tales" of Bazhov. Now, after nearly four centuries, the "fairy tale of fairy tales" is translated into Russian. Basile refracts eternal human feelings in the whimsical prism of a fairy tale, simultaneously drawing a picture of his era and environment that was striking in terms of coverage.
