Deep psychologism and understanding of the spiritual world of a person is what distinguishes all the works of Touve Jansson. The story Summer Book is no exception. This is a piercing story about the girl who lost her mother, who, together with her father and grandmother, spends the holidays on a small island in the Gulf of Finland. The atmosphere, who was conveyed by the writer, who reigned that summer on a pill of earth remote from the city noise, creates the effect of presence. It is so strong that it is completely easy to feel the cold of the winds walking freely and hear the piercing cries of gulls, and most importantly - to divide the most secret feelings with the little girl and her family.
In addition to the “Summer Book”, the collection includes only recently translated into Russian the diaries “Notes from the island”, as well as novels and essays of different years
