The book included the chosen historical short stories of the classic of world literature Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) from the cycle "Star Watch of mankind" and the story "The Feat of Magellan". These works are a hymn to the mind and courage, determination and creative impulse (the first round -the -world trip, the opening of the South Pole, laying the transatlantic telegraph cable) and at the same time a reminder that the rash actions of one person can be fatally affected by his fate, and sometimes on the move world history, as happened when the fall of Constantinople or the battle of Waterloo
