“Sound and rage” is one of the most famous books of the 20th century.
The book in which the realism of the “family drama” is traditional for the southern prose of the “family drama” frames the endless stylistically innovative finds of the author, the most important of which is almost the first time, since the time of the “King of Lear” Shakespeare, which was used in the English literature, the reception of the “stream of consciousness”.
In essence, at a purely plot level, the drama of crime and incest, passion and redemption, on the basis of which “sound and rage” is built, is characteristic of the canonical “South Gothic”. However, the genius of Faulkner turns it into a unique work that expands the boundaries of literary admissibility
