The novel “Sons and Lovers” is the first serious work of David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930), which brought worldwide recognition to the young writer. The novel about complex family relationships, where the mother, disappointed in love, transfers all her unspent tenderness to the sons, and this later provokes the drama in the life of the youngest son. The attachment to the mother comes into conflict with his attraction to girls and women. It is very difficult to love someone except the mother, for him, to get rid of the shackles in which he chained himself
