Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930), the creator of Sherlock Holmes and Professor Challenger, appears in this book in an unexpected role for the Russian reader - as a poet.
Of the five poetic collections that came out during the life of Conan Doyle, we chose "Songs of Action" (1898) - the first and gives a fairly complete idea of the theme, style and language of the poetic work of Sir Arthur.
"Songs of action", first published by a separate book in Russian, are presented in the translation of the laureate of the Bunin Prize Evgeny Feldman, the author of numerous translations of English classical poetry.
The book is published with the parallel text of the English original
