We offer the reader to the first collection of fairy tales in the history of European literature - the book of the Neapolitan writer Jambattist Bazile (1566-1632), and the entitled - "Tale of Tales". In the fairy tale about the young princess, who left the palace in search of the groom predicted to her, as in the frame, fifty other stories are concluded, divided by five days (hence the second name under which this book is known - Pentameron) The plots and motives of Bazile have influenced many storytellers of subsequent centuries - both direct (on Charles Perrault, Carlo Gozzi and the Grimm brothers), and indirect (up to A. S. Pushkin, P.P. Ershov and P.P. Bazhov) . However, a unique work of Baroque prose makes Bazile’s book not so much plot as a bright author’s style - the saturation of the story of the household realities of Italy of the 17th century, proverbs and sayings, quotes of Latin and Italian authors, children"s folklore, samples of students of students, soldiers and card shools
