In the novel “Sensation” (1938), the famous British prose writer, Ivlin V,, perhaps,, as in any other book, demonstrates a truly Jeromic ability to create funny literally from nothing, growing a whole absurd “Tragicomedy of mistakes” from one trifling confusion. The modest author of the Lug and Thicket column in a provincial newspaper as a result of an editorial confusion is sent instead of his namesake - a famous writer and traveler - a military correspondent to the distant African country of Esmaili, where, according to rumors, a civil war is brewing.
