Deciderii Erasmasm Rotterdam (1469-1536) is the largest scientist of the European Renaissance, philosopher, researcher of biblical texts. He was called the prince of humanists and oracle of Europe. He left behind an extensive epistolary heritage, many works devoted to the most important problems of the universe. “Praise of stupidity” (1509) is a joke, in fact his trifle, as the author himself admitted to pass the time. Nevertheless, it was this work that became the most famous composition of Erasmus. Paradoxical? - Or maybe natural? For this is the greatest skill of the philosopher, the virtuoso of possession of the word and thought - in a joke to express the most important, most secret, that will remain eternal at all times
