A chemist by education, he gave the stories included in the book, the names of the elements of the Mendeleev table. Starting from their Jewish ancestors, who settled in Italy in the XVI century, Levy recalls family traditions, student years, the first steps in the profession of a chemist and terrible days spent in Auschwitz. This is the story of a young man whose tragic fate determined the monstrous events of the past century.
