The author, writer Pierre Aleksis de Ponnu Terrail, won the glory of the master of criminal adventure plots. The main historical actors of the story “Page Fleur de Mer” can be familiar to Russian readers from the novel by Dumas “Viscount de Brazhelon”. In this publication, the Ponson story is first published in full translation. The book is decorated with magnificent drawings of one of the most famous illustrators of the XIX century. - Gustava Dorea in the second half of the XIX? The French writer Pierre Alexis de Ponno du Terrail came up with this character. He was born in the summer of 1829 in an old aristocratic family and was supposed to become a military man, following the example of his grandfather. Pierre took up the pen, having failed the entrance exams at the Naval Academy. Ponson du Terrail worked as a frantic - he sat down at the table at five in the morning and scribbled, without unbending his back, until the evening. As a result, for 20 years, Ponno Du Terrail composed two hundred stories in which Rockbool was only one of the hundreds of the characters he created. Of course, it was not only the amount of written. Ponson Du Terrail had a congenital gift of a talented writer. His stories were read out - from commoners to aristocrats. Read the story “Page Fleur de Met”, and you yourself will feel it. This is the literature of the level of three musketeers Dumas. France appreciated the talent of Ponson du Terrail, making him a gentleman of the Order of the Legion of Honor. It is a pity that the life of the writer was short -lived. Ponson Du Terrail died of smallpox in November 1870. He was incomplete 42 years old
