This publication compiled two translated by Vladimir Nabokov in 1920-1923. Books: “Nikolka Persian” (“Cola Brunion”) Romain Rollan and “Anya in the Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. Since childhood, who owned French and English, Nabokov at the beginning of his writer"s career took up two equally complicated work and showed virtuoso ownership of the Russian language, managing to reproduce the game of words, the figurative series and poems of the originals. In this regard, translation experiments of the future author of “Dara” and “ADA” discover the beginnings of his sophisticated literary style. “Nikolka Persik” was, apparently, the first Russian translation of “Cola Brunion”, while “Anya in Wonderland” was recognized as one of the best translations of “Alice” into Russian
