The decent and kind young man Karl Rosman, the hero of the book of Franz Kafka “The Missing (America)”, comes to America, hoping that he can provide a diligent work for himself a decent life. However, in a world where the right of power overcomes the power of law, where hunger and fear lies in wait for a person at every step - in such a world the fate of a person depends on any accidents, but not on his will. Too often, only the loss of humanity gives a chance to achieve good luck, and since Karl Rosman does not want to part with good motives, fate beckons his ghosts of luck in order to abandon again at the very bottom of life
