Mr. Jourder passionately dreams of getting into high society. a cunning named Tartuf, having pretended to be a saint, enjoys the host’s trust and takes the whole house to his hands. It would seem that they see all this - but not Mr. Orgon and his mother, to whom the “pious scientist” became closest to all relatives. Thanks to the immortal comedy, the name Tartuf became a common house.
