The training manual discusses the creation and research of the layout of special wheel drivers of the traction class 6 KN, 9 KN, 14 KN and 30 KN with a hinge frame. The theoretical foundations of the layout of forest wheel tractors with a hinge frame were developed by scientists of the Department of Design of Special Forest machines of the St. Petersburg Forestry Academy (Currently, St. Petersburg named after S. M. Kirva) The methodology is considered and data is given for calculating the loading of the chassis and analysis of the distribution of loads on the leading bridges of tractors. In accordance with GOST 26953-86, GOST 26955-86 and GOST 51629-2000, a methodology for evaluating the compliance of the chassis system of the wheeled tractors with normalized forestry requirements is set out. The study of the layout of forest wheeled tractors involves a large amount of calculated work. To accelerate research, the MathCAD calculation system is proposed to help students.
