This book contains three plays of the great ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, united by the theme of a woman’s place in an ancient society. In the comedies of Aristophanes, women are both smarter and stronger than men, which does not look like a mockery. After centuries, the heroines of these plays echo the heroines of Shakespeare and Lope de Vega, Defoe and Charlotte Bronte, who claim to fight for her freedom and happiness, no matter how every new historical era interprets the woman. The publication is supplemented by an introductory article by a specialist in literature and art of Oksana Razumovskaya
