"Loxandra" is the first novel by Maria Jordanid, based on her memoirs about her grandmother and childhood in the city, then still known as Constantinople. This is a novel about the forever departed era and its culture, reflected in tastes, smells, kitchen and household details.
This is one of those novels where, through the history and personal experiences of members of one large family, the story is transmitted. Loxandra, the main character, who gave a name a book and lived according to the traditions of the 19th century, is not much concerned with all these changes, she does not always notice them. Seeed by her in detail, Sergei Ivanov stands in detail in the afterword to the novel.
In Greece, the book withstood more than 40 reprints, was filmed and set in the theater, and was translated into foreign languages. In Russian, the novel comes out for the first time
