In the story "Knulp", the great master tells the story of a true dreamer and an eternal wanderer. He is a man-maker without roots and affection, a free soul that exists outside the established order of things.
"Demian" is a philosophical, in many ways an autobiographical novel about growing up and the formation of a young man who discovers a deep, dark "I". In this, the mysterious friend Demian helps him - the bearer of the "Seal of Cain", either the devil, or the mysterious deity, or just a product of the hero’s imagination.
"Siddhartha - the pearl of prose of Hesse, on the pages of which the writer"s impression of a trip to India, as well as his thoughts about one of the deepest and wise religions of mankind - Buddhism, was reflected.
