Tanidzaki Dzyunyitiro (1886-1965) is one of the most outstanding Japanese writers of the 20th century, who received worldwide recognition.
Among his many works are the most famous two novels - "Key" and "Diary of a crazy old man".
The publication of the "Key" in 1956 caused a violent public reaction up to the debate in the Japanese parliament on the prohibition of the novel as immoral and pornographic.
The same scandal was also caused by the appearance of the author of the "Mad Old Man"s Diary of a" Diary of a Mad Madman.
Both of these works are amazing with their life force, frank eroticism and fearlessness in the descriptions of the thinnest, most intimate human relations.
