James Oliver Kerwood (1878-1927) - prose writer, environmental defender, classic of American adventure literature. A passionate hunter, naturalist and traveler, Kerwood knew well and loved the harsh edges of Northern Canada and Alaska. During his short life, he wrote more than 30 novels. His books continue the best traditions of the European-American adventure literature about the north. Themes, plots and characters of the works of Kerwood are originating from the deaf areas, in the wanderings of which the author spent a significant part of his life. The story of the fate of the cauldron, a wild dog with an admixture of wolf blood, is more fascinating than any adventure novel.
