The book was published anonymously in 1557. She enjoyed pan -European fame and became a source of motives that are found in a wide variety of literary works - from the Voltaire"s “Zadig” to the name of Rosa Umberto Eco. According to the plot, the three young prince from Serendip (the ancient name of Sri Lanka) go on a trip to know the customs of other peoples and learn wisdom. In their wanderings, they meet proud sultans, beautiful queens and insidious wizards, solve cunning riddles and, thanks to their insight, save the kingdom from death. Magic transformations are adjacent to moralizing instructions, violence and cruelty - with arguments in favor of humility and piety
