The Book Club of the Book of Club presents a new series "Foreign Literary Archive", which is undoubtedly worthy of your attention, since by analogy with the "Russian Literary Archive", brilliant works of writers, bright and unconditionally talented, but undeservedly forgotten in our time, will be collected in it. The book of the Nobel laureate Paul Heze "in paradise" opens the series. Heze is one of the best German prose writers with his original style manner and hedonistic worldview. In total, the writer released twenty-four volumes of short stories, about sixty plays, nine poetic collections and six novels, among which the novel “in paradise” presented in the present edition, telling about the life of Munich aesthetic artists. The works of Heze, who was called the Creator of the Modern Psychological Novels, were successful with the public, despite the fact that during the dominance of naturalism in European national literature, he was subjected to fierce attacks from representatives of the naturalistic school for the theme of his works abstract from the pressing interests of the country
