The novel "Improvisator" (1835) was written by G. X. Andersen after he visited Italy. The hero of this partly autobiographical novel poet-improviser Antonio also goes on a long journey. Uncertain, but a talented young man awaits numerous adventures and meetings, thanks to which he gains himself and is affirmed in his own law on the manifestation of feelings and his poetic gift. The publication was glorified by G. X. Andersen, and later this work was the first to translate into Russian. For many years, it was the most readable of all books of the writer
