A traveler, like a wandering knights of the oldest times, who had fallen in the lands of Scotland, decided to trust the instinct of his horse. The horse chose the right road at dusk and delivered the horseman to the ancient ruins on the rock in a roundabout way. One of the local residents warned the traveler that ghosts live in ruins, but they should not be afraid. The traveler was not afraid and asked for an overnight stay in a neighboring castle. “Guy Mannering, or astrologer” is one of Walter Scott"s best novels, who read Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, enthusiastically calling the author of this book “Scottish Sorcerer”
