Grasp the air

D. Orwell is “swallowed with air” about the life of ordinary British between the two world wars, about the contrast between dull existence and a passionate dream of happiness. The whole work is permeated with a sensation of an impending war and at the same time imbued with a nostalgia about the lost childhood, in which everything seems to the hero idyllically beautiful. However, his attempts to hide in the past from the present are doomed to failure - the world of his childhood has unconsciously changed and will never be the same. And there is no more air either
