“Doors of perception” (1954) and “Paradise and Hell” (1956) - essays, which became a kind of intellectual manifesto for fans of the psychedelic culture of the stormy sixties. They were admired by Carlos Castaneda and Timothy Liri, Ken Kizi and Jim Morrison. They influenced the minds of hundreds of thousands of “angry young people” who were looking for a new meaning of being. Their meaning and essence are the search for ideal ways to expand consciousness.
“Eternal Philosophy” (1945) is a brilliant study of the spiritual heritage of all world religions. This book is based on canonical texts, masterpieces of philosophical thought and world literature.
“Return to the marvelous new world” (1958) - a work in which the great English writer and philosopher, in his polemic manner, spent parallels between Western civilization the bourgeois Golden Age of the 1950s and the anti-utopian totalitarian consumer paradise described in its most famous work of art-the novel On the Widest New World. Again and again, Haxli compared the world of a distant future fictional many years ago with the very real world, surrounding it at the time of writing “return” - and again and again found signs of a frightening, dangerous and more and more obvious similarity
