The modern classification of pesticides used in the protection of agricultural plants from pests, diseases and weeds is given. In modern interpretation, the basics of agronomic toxicology, the influence of pesticides on the environment and the main directions of increasing the environmental safety of the use of chemical plant protection in integrated systems, sanitary-hygienic and physicochemical foundations of the use of pesticides are presented. The characteristics and regulations of the application of the main pesticides permitted in the territory of the Russian Federation (norms, terms, methods and features of their application) have been set out. For each section, issues and tests are given for self -control of the assimilation of theoretical material, tasks for solving to determine the norm of consumption of pesticides and working solution.
