French poet, prose writer, journalist, critic and traveler Tofil Gauthier, author of the famous collection of lyric miniatures “Emali and Kamei” (1852/1872), went down in the history of literature as the “last romantic” and the first representative of the new, “parnassian” school in French in French poetry.
