Kurzio Malaparte (1898-1957) is an Italian writer, author of the Kaput novels and "Shfa", "Ball in the Kremlin", books "Technique of the Council of Council", "Damned Tuscans". The anarchist and an adventurer by nature, Malapart often changed beliefs - in his youth he supported Mussolini, became interested in Maoism, joined the Communist Party. His motto was: "The main thing is that they talk about it", and he took the pseudonym Malaparte ("Bad Fate") as opposed to Bonaparte ("good fate").
Roman "Ball in the Kremlin" was written by Malapart under the impression of visiting Moscow in the summer of 1929, from his meetings with the Soviet elite and art people. This is a grandiose canvas, where real facts are easily adjacent to the invented, imaginary. Heroes of this phantasmagoria: politicians and diplomats - Lunacharsky, Florinsky, Karakhan, their wives and friends - ballerina Marina Semenova, actress Lunacharskaya -Rosenel, famous Beauties Bubnova and Egorova, as well as Mayakovsky, Bulgakov, young girl Mariki Chimishkian himself and Kurtzio Malapart himself - exotic A foreigner, witness to the crazy and tragic carnival - Moscow of the late twenties of the twentieth century.
The book is illustrated by rare photographs, equipped with introductory articles and scientific comments of Mikhail Odessa, Natalia Gromova, Stefano Gardzonio
