Gabriel Garcia Marquez is the greatest writer of the twentieth century, Nobel laureate, author of the world -famous novels "Hundred Years of Loneliness", "Love during the Plague" and "Autumn Patriarch".
"I always wanted to write a book about absolute power", - So the author determined the main theme of his work. The dictator of an unnamed Latin American country is in power for so much time that he no longer remembers how he came to it. He is already a man, and a revived myth, and a puppeteer, and a puppet in the hands of rock. He is completely lonely in his vast palace, where the real and unreal is adjacent to the most bizarre way.
He wants and is afraid of death. But ... is there death for the embodiment of the legend? Perhaps the ruler will only be happy when he dies and understands that for him the "countless eternity time has finally ended ”?
