Your attention is offered a set of 2 books: American tragedy. Volume 1.2.
Roman "American tragedy" tells the story of one murder. The witty and exciting narrative transfers us at the beginning of the 20th century to a small town in the west of America, where the young Clyde Grifits, an employee at the collar factory, drowned the girl who had become pregnant from him. A banal plot, but not at Theodore Dreiser. The action -packed novel turns out to be the story of the murder of more than a girl, but the whole generation of Americans who grew up in the conviction that for the sake of a high position in society, any sacrifices can be made.
Vitaly Goryaev’s drawings illustrate the most tense moments in the psychological state of Clyde Grifits, as if collecting a general portrait of the character’s character in front of the reader
