The “Reynal-Khichkok” published on April 6, 1943, “The Little Prince” spoke English, and only some time later, thanks to the same publishers, spoke French.
So who was he - an American or a Frenchman? The Little Prince was invented, painted and written in the United States during 1942. The book was an order, it was supposed to become a Christmas fairy tale for American children, and then French, to console them a little and distract them, some from the overhanging threat of war, others from its real hardships.
Everything is so, but there is something else. Antoine de Saint-Exupery flatly refused to learn English, and back in 1939 he wrote a wonderful book for the children, which was going to publish in France in the printing house of the city of Tour. But the bombardment of the tour in 1940 decided everything differently.
But since 1946 - the dates of the first French (and posthumous) publication of the Little Prince - Poetic Fairy Tale was translated into 210 languages and sold to multimillion -dollar circulations in all countries.
The collection also includes the Planet of People, published in 1939, awarded the Big Prize of the French Academy and the Best Book of the Year according to the American Association of Book Ghosts. But the cinematic version of the book, which was eager to create Jean Renoir, was never realized
