One of the main heroes of the novel is time. It imperiously changes human fate and the names of the streets, turning over generation, like the pages of the book. Time is waywardly disposes of the fate of the main character, Irina. She gave birth to two children, but raised and raised three. A crystal honest person, she almost goes to jail ... When after the war Irina returns to his hometown, he appears as wounded as her own life. Children grow up and no longer remember what she knows and remembers. Or do not want to remember? - But this means that grandchildren will never know about the past: it eludes without leaving a trace in reality, but continues to live in memory, dreams and conversations with those that no longer do not. The only way to stop the moment is to remember it and convey this memory to a person of another time, a new generation. The book continues the history of the Ivanov family-the children of those old people who were described in the first book of the author (“Once upon a time there were an old man with an old woman”)
